Loopdrill privacy policy

Updated for Loopdrill 1.1 (build 26): September 30, 2026

Overview

Loopdrill ("the App") is a music practice tool developed by Hyeong-soo Kim. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

Data collection

Loopdrill does not operate an account system. Optional usage statistics are described below; they do not include your music library or the contents of your practice sessions. Imported audio, saved lyrics, bookmarks, and practice settings are stored on your device. Online music playback and lyrics lookup contact the services described below.

What the App accesses

Apple Music library. If you grant permission, Loopdrill accesses your Apple Music library to browse and play songs for practice. Playback and artwork use Apple's services. A selected song's metadata may also be used to find lyrics as described below.

Local audio files. You may import audio files from the Files app. These files are stored locally within the app's sandbox.

Lyrics lookup. Online lyrics lookup is off by default. Saving an LRCLIB-compatible HTTPS server address and enabling lookup in Settings does not send song data. Only when you tap Find Lyrics for a song does Loopdrill send its title, artist, album name (when available), and duration directly to that server. Repeating the search sends the same metadata. The server receives connection information such as your IP address. Loopdrill does not upload your audio file, imported lyrics, or bookmarks. Turning lookup off stops new requests; previously fetched online lyrics are hidden until you enable it again.

In-app purchases

Lyrics Practice Pro is an optional one-time purchase processed by Apple. The App checks verified StoreKit transactions on your device to unlock features, restore purchases, and reflect refunds or revocations. The developer does not receive your payment card details or Apple Account password. The App does not send purchase history to a developer-operated server.

Data storage

Song metadata, saved lyrics, bookmarks, and practice settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Loopdrill does not synchronize this library to a developer-operated cloud service. If you use the Apple Watch companion, playback state and bookmark names are shared with your paired Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework.

Third-party services

Loopdrill uses TelemetryDeck only with your agreement, as described below. It does not use advertising services, advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or session recording.

Optional Apple Music playback uses Apple's services. If you enable online lyrics, the server you entered is a separate service whose processing is outside the developer's control. You can import an LRC file or enter lyrics yourself while lookup is off. Use only lyrics and sources you are permitted to access.

Optional usage statistics

Sharing is off by default. On first launch, a dedicated choice follows the welcome screen; existing users can receive an optional invitation after practice or choose in Settings. Users who agreed to earlier session-only statistics must agree again before cross-session measurement begins. Refusing does not restrict any features. With your agreement, Loopdrill sends session starts, feature usage, whether foreground practice playback reaches two minutes, playback and lyrics lookup outcomes, coarse loading-time ranges, app and operating system versions, a random session ID and a random installation ID over HTTPS to TelemetryDeck GmbH, an analytics provider in Europe. Its hosting documentation describes processing in Germany and the Netherlands. We use these events to measure return visits and improve functionality and reliability.

The installation ID is generated only after this agreement, stored on your device and kept across sessions to measure return visits. It is not based on Apple's device identifiers, an advertising ID, or an account. The session ID changes when the app returns from the background. Unsent events are temporarily stored on your device so a short or interrupted session can be counted. Loopdrill does not send song titles, artists, lyrics, audio, filenames, bookmark text, contact details, purchase history, or raw error messages for analytics. TelemetryDeck necessarily receives connection information such as an IP address and states that it does not retain IP addresses.

Turning sharing off in Settings stops new collection, cancels in-flight requests where possible, and deletes the local installation ID and unsent events. A later opt-in creates a new ID. Turning sharing off does not recall data already received by the service. TelemetryDeck currently has no fixed deletion schedule for analytics events, including after an account is closed. For current processing and retention details, see TelemetryDeck's privacy information. Contact us at the address below about this choice.

Apple may separately share aggregated App Store usage, sales, and diagnostic information with the developer under Apple's policies and your device's analytics sharing settings. Loopdrill's optional sharing switch controls only the TelemetryDeck events above.

Reviews and feedback

Loopdrill keeps limited practice totals and review-request dates on your device to avoid interrupting practice or requesting reviews too often. These counters are not uploaded. You can disable automatic requests in Settings. Apple controls whether its native request appears; Loopdrill cannot determine whether you wrote a review or what rating you gave. The feedback link opens your mail app without attaching files or sending a message automatically. If you send an email, the developer receives the contact details and content you choose to include to respond to your request.

Children's privacy

Loopdrill does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
